How to Be a Kitchen Witch

How to Be a Kitchen Witch covers kitchen witchcraft spells for a happy family, and weaving spells and intentions into domestic chores, especially cooking and baking with The Green Hearth Witch! This form of witchcraft involves green kitchen witch recipes, enchanted wooden spoons, and kitchen wands to stir things.

As a green hearth witch, one of my favorite places to be is in the kitchen! Contrary to what you might read, you don’t have to be a world-renowned chef to practice this kind of witchcraft. You can start from where you are and build a better practice.

Even if you don’t know how to cook or have minimal experience in the kitchen, you can be a kitchen witch. Simply start from where you are and let the magic meet you in the middle. Working magic in the kitchen is a wonderful way to connect your practice to food, chores, and everyday, mundane tasks.

Practicing kitchen witchcraft is a huge part of being a house witch, where everything revolves around the hearth of the home. Most of your practice will take place at home. In the garden, kitchen, and the home itself.

Part of working with kitchen craft is engaging with the house spirits, many of which reside in the kitchen area. The kitchen, usually the oven, is considered the heart of the home.

The spirits of the house can enhance the home's mood and atmosphere, emphasizing warmth and comfort in the kitchen if you so wish. Additionally, there are domestic deities you can work with for kitchen magic.

Household deities help protect the home and its inhabitants, including pets and plants. They are also known for bringing good fortune and prosperity into the home.

Working with Goddess Fortuna and the cornucopia symbol can help bring an abundance of food into the home, which is highly important for kitchen witchery. She can also bring good luck into the kitchen!

Incorporating a kitchen witch doll into your craft can also bring good luck energy! She’s a poppet that’s placed in the kitchen to ensure pots never boil over and that cooking and baking go smoothly.

While a kitchen witch can transform specific recipes into a spell, they can also add intention to whatever meals they prepare, enhancing the recipe with an extra dose of magic. This is often how I practice kitchen witchcraft.

I prefer to add my intention to the salads, smoothies, and Buddha bowls that I create. I choose an intention that resonates with me, then choose spell ingredients accordingly. Sometimes, I’ll choose herbs, spices, fruits, nuts, or even bread ingredients that go into each individual spell.

Sometimes, I’ll choose one intention that can be used over and over again to feed the spell. For example, each time I make scrambled eggs, I add salt and pepper, and use protection as the premise of my spell. The magical properties of eggs include protection, fertility, and new beginnings.

Salt and pepper can enhance any type of protection and home defense spell in the cooking process. Salt represents purification, while pepper represents safeguarding.

In addition to setting an intention for cooking and baking, you’re going to want to add spell ingredients that correspond to your intention. Rosemary for nostalgic memories, dill for good luck, and basil for love and attraction spells.

When you want to attract something to you, you’ll stir clockwise with a wooden spoon. When you want to banish or negate something, stirring counterclockwise is the way to go.

You can also use DIY green kitchen witch wands made from kitchen items. A wooden spoon, a bourbon vanilla bean, and a cinnamon stick can all be used to focus your intention into your spell recipe.

Kitchen magic is versatile. There are so many things you can do with it. There is no right or wrong way to practice this kind of magic.

Just like with other forms of witchcraft, kitchen witchery is personal to the witch who practices it. It can be customized to reflect dietary needs, kitchen witch tools, and mindful eating practices.

Food can be both magical and personal! It’s meant to reflect your personality and the natural food cravings that provide you with energy, healing, and nourishment. The same thing could be said about kitchen crafting.

If you want to learn how to be a kitchen witch, you’ll enjoy this read! It includes spell recipe ideas and the kitchen's magical transformation from mundane to downright magical.

How to Be a Kitchen Witch

Becoming a kitchen witch is simple, really! Again, you simply start from where you are. You can learn as you go or simply deepen your practice.

If you’re a beginner, you’ll learn along the way. If you’re a more seasoned cook or baker, you’ll begin to add magical intentions to what you already do. Again, you don’t have to be the world’s greatest cook to become a kitchen witch.

A lot of cooking comes with food prep, storage, and cleaning. If you know how to cut a vegetable or make a cup of herbal tea, then you’re on your way to learning green kitchen hearthcraft.

Let’s take me, for example. I’m not always the best cook, but there are some recipes I’m great at. I have never let that stop me from practicing kitchen witchcraft.

Start with the things you know you’re good at. For me, it’s a handful of recipes and a love of soups, smoothies, and salads. I definitely excel at the three S’s.

It’s important to start with what interests you. You can always branch out later as your practice grows. Maybe you’ll grow a windowsill herb garden or start making French cuisine.

The important thing is to be open to where your green kitchen witch practice takes you! It’s about finding your hidden talents and abilities in the kitchen.

Maybe you are more of a baker than a cook. That could be your specialty. It’s how you bring joy to those you love.

Start by making a list of your favorite meals and find out what goes into them. How can you make those meals magical? Start by putting your intention into them!

The mundane can be transformed into magic by the ingredients you choose and the intentions you put into them. This could be anything from sweeping the floors to leaving a bowl of salt on the counter to making an intention simmer pot recipe.

Eating seasonal foods is a great way to connect your practice to witchcraft. A watermelon bowl filled with berries during the summer solstice and butternut squash soup during Mabon holiday.

A kitchen witch can also make foods according to the lunar phases. Moon milk, moon water, and warming spices and root vegetables all make the cut during each lunar phase.

Additionally, you can use planetary retrogrades to make food that reminds you of a simpler place in time. Homemade cookies made with love by grandmother and tater tot casseroles for every Thursday night dinner. Think of nostalgic recipes that remind you of childhood magic.

Kitchen magic can be made from anything that nourishes and supports your mind, body, and soul! Think about how you can incorporate healthy, nourishing farm-to-table foods into your practice with a sprinkle of magic.

In this article, you’ll learn all about how to be a kitchen witch! It’s important to take what resonates and leave the rest. Kitchen witchery, like all witchcraft, is personal and can be customized to fit your needs.

Ghost Witchcraft: Working With the Dead

Ghost Witchcraft: Working With the Dead features ghost hauntings, necromancy, and working with graveyard spirits, all accompanied by The Green Hearth Witch! When I was a little girl, my childhood home was haunted, and there began my fascination with the dead. There comes a time when every witch meets a ghost!

My childhood home was filled with ghosts, demons, and dark entities. I remember how terrifying it was to go to sleep at night. I would often feel spirits walking on my body and whispering in my ear.

It took me many years to realize I had psychic abilities and I could see and hear what others couldn’t. I remember overhearing some of my family members talking behind my back, thinking I had a severe form of mental illness.

Eventually, I stopped telling people about my ghost encounters, for fear of judgment. In fact, I even went through a phase where I barely spoke at all.

Sadly, this happens a lot with psychic children. Children are often more open energetically and haven’t quite mastered shielding themselves from the things that go bump in the night. Pets are also highly sensitive to spirits, especially dogs.

As I grew older, I learned how to control my gifts better and protect myself. One of the things that helped me through my formative years was the bible. I would read passages aloud, or I would call on the Father, the Son, and the holy ghost to protect me.

It would instantly feel like a warm presence was surrounding and protecting me, helping me get through the night. I would often sleep with my bible in order to feel safe.

I talk a little about Christian witchcraft in “The Saint Expedite Candle Magick Spell for Procrastination.” Prayer, bible passages, and rosary beads are all part of my folk magic practice.

As an adult, I came to the realization that much of the paranormal activity in my childhood home stemmed from pure evil. My father was abusive, sexually, physically, and emotionally. He was a raging alcoholic with a mean streak a mile long.

His evil energy welcomed in dark entities, demons, and even ghosts. On the other hand, my mom was a good Christian woman who didn’t know all of the truly evil, vile things going on in that house.

It almost became a battle between good and evil. I remember church members coming over to pray over the house, and placing prayer cloths under our pillows, but with my father running the home, it would only work for so long before they came back.

My mom didn’t realize that the devil was in our home. I remember sleeping on the couch one summer, as it was the only air-conditioned room in the house, and waking up in the middle of the night to the devil staring down at me. I’m talking pitchfork tail and everything.

I squeezed my eyes shut and prayed until I fell asleep, feeling this evil presence watching me the entire time. Ghost witchcraft doesn’t just deal in ghosts. It can sometimes deal with demons and dark entities ushered in by evil people.

However, the majority of the time, I saw ghosts all over that house. I would see them out of the corner of my eye and hear their voices in my ears as I was drifting off to sleep. I never knew what they wanted.

I guess the closest thing I could describe it to was the movie “The Sixth Sense.” That movie encapsulates my childhood perfectly, as I imagine it did for other psychic children like myself.

My Christian background helped me survive my childhood, while my green hearthcraft practice keeps me going now. There aren’t many things I’m afraid of nowadays, and I have since discovered that not all demons are pure evil. I’ve even worked with a few.

I’ve also since discovered that ghosts are just people who used to live, just like you and me. Many are stuck out of guilt or shame. Many ghosts are imprints, left over from the past.

Today, we’re going to dig into all of the different ghosts, spirits, and entities there are, as well as ghost hauntings. I’m also going to share with you how to communicate with the dead and how to set trapped ghosts free.

Ghost witchery is serious business! This is the type of spirit work that requires a lot of protection and defense magick. Many ghost witches go into it hoping to help people, even though these people have already passed away and are still very much part of the material earth.

Graveyard witches also work with deceased animal spirits, often spending time in pet cemeteries. These types of witches enjoy helping animals, even in the afterlife. Many of them practice animal witchcraft.

Looking back, I think I was always a witch. All of the signs were there, even as a little girl. Everything from communicating with ghosts to making friends with the fae was a huge part of my childhood. I even remember singing to the rose bush when I was a kid because I knew it enjoyed my melodic voice.

Maybe you have a similar story. Maybe there was a house you walked by as a child that would always give you a bad feeling, or a doll given to you that felt so evil, you wanted nothing to do with it.

Perhaps you’ve lived in a haunted house or near a graveyard with wandering ghost spirits. Maybe you, too, could see, hear, and feel things other people couldn’t.

Maybe you’re in the Halloween spirit, and love learning about spooky things this time of year, and want to approach it with an open mind. It’s okay to be somewhat skeptical. In fact, I think it’s downright healthy.

The veil is thin as we approach the Samhain Holiday, making it the perfect time to communicate with the spirits of the dead. The barrier between the earthly realm and the spiritual realm somewhat merges this time of year.

It’s time to place pumpkins on the porch for protection, wear a cross around your neck, and light candles for your ancestors. Samhain Season is the perfect time to learn about wandering graveyard spirits!

It’s the only time of year when it’s acceptable to embrace the weird, the strange, and the macabre. Unless, of course, you’re a witch, in which case you can learn about oddities and curiosities all year long!

Cozy Tea Witchcraft Rituals For a Magical Life

Cozy Tea Witchcraft Rituals for a Magical Life covers tea magick spells, tea leaf readings, and intention tea blends with The Green Hearth Witch! Tea magick is one of the easiest, low-energy spells you can do, especially for the spoonie witch. You can easily incorporate tea into your craft!

Tea witchery is something that I began long ago! It’s a branch of kitchen witchcraft that incorporates the magical uses of tea. First and foremost, it’s important to remember that tea comes from plants. Herbal tea blends are created to promote calmness, relaxation, sleep, and revitalization.

In House Witchcraft: Witchy Goals for My New Home I wanted to create more green kitchen witch spell recipes, and some of those recipes include the magic of tea! My boyfriend and I have tea several nights a week, and I’ve been exploring different ways to make it.

During the Summer Solstice, I love making sun tea powered by this bright and sunny pagan holiday! Sometimes, I’ll even leave an offering of libation to the Sun God Apollo, who appears most prominent during this summer celebration.

I have come to find that making tea spells can be done with witchy holidays, the seasonal shifts, the moon phases, and the cycles of life. This includes tea for astrological transits and planetary retrogrades.

For example, as I’m writing this, we’re in Mercury Retrograde energy, prompting us to slow down and become reflective. You can make a retrograde tea blend to put back for those times when life becomes too busy and chaotic. It will help mellow you out and slow life down.

What’s nice about this is that you hold the reins to life! You can choose how you want it to go based on the tea blends you create. So, get ready to pour some tea!

During the full moon magic, I love creating what is known as moon tea. Just like sun tea, you leave it out, but in this case, it’s left under the light of the full moon. Be sure to leave it in an enclosed container, preferably glass.

This can be done through all of the lunar phases if you like, simply by creating tea blends for each moon phase. This gives you something to fall back on during dark, difficult times when you need it the most.

Working with the magic of tea can be rewarding, especially if you stick with it long-term! You’ll notice that it becomes a cozy ritual in your life that can be done repetitively. The more you practice, the more perfect it becomes!
