Ghost Witchcraft: Working With the Dead
Ghost Witchcraft: Working With the Dead features ghost hauntings, necromancy, and working with graveyard spirits, all accompanied by the Green Hearth Witch! When I was a little girl, my childhood home was haunted, and there began my fascination with the dead. There comes a time when every witch meets a ghost!
My childhood home was filled with ghosts, demons, and dark entities. I remember how terrifying it was to go to sleep at night. I would often feel spirits walking on my body and whispering in my ear.
It took me many years to realize I had psychic abilities and I could see and hear what others couldn’t. I remember overhearing some of my family members talking behind my back, thinking I had a severe form of mental illness.
Eventually, I stopped telling people about my ghost encounters, for fear of judgment. In fact, I even went through a phase where I barely spoke at all.
Sadly, this happens a lot with psychic children. Children are often more open energetically and haven’t quite mastered shielding themselves from the things that go bump in the night. Pets are also highly sensitive to spirits, especially dogs.
As I grew older, I learned to better control my gifts and protect myself. One of the things that helped me through my formative years was the bible. I would read passages aloud, or I would call on the Father, the Son, and the holy ghost to protect me.
It would instantly feel like a warm presence surrounding and protecting me, helping me get through the night. I would often sleep with my bible in order to feel safe.
I talk a little about Christian witchcraft in “The Saint Expedite Candle Magick Spell for Procrastination.” Prayer, bible passages, and rosary beads are all part of my folk magic practice.
As an adult, I came to the realization that much of the paranormal activity in my childhood home stemmed from pure evil. My father was abusive, sexually, physically, and emotionally. He was a raging alcoholic with a mean streak a mile long.
His evil energy welcomed in dark entities, demons, and even ghosts. On the other hand, my mom was a good Christian woman who didn’t know all of the truly evil, vile things going on in that house.
It almost became a battle between good and evil. I remember church members coming over to pray over the house, and placing prayer cloths under our pillows, but with my father running the home, it would only work for so long before they came back.
My mom didn’t realize that the devil was in our home. I remember sleeping on the couch one summer, as it was the only air-conditioned room in the house, and waking up in the middle of the night to the devil staring down at me. I’m talking pitchfork tail and everything.
I squeezed my eyes shut and prayed until I fell asleep, feeling this evil presence watching me the entire time. Ghost witchcraft doesn’t just deal in ghosts. It can sometimes deal with demons and other dark entities that evil people summon.
However, most of the time, I saw ghosts all over that house. I would see them out of the corner of my eye and hear their voices in my ears as I was drifting off to sleep. I never knew what they wanted.
I guess the closest thing I could describe it to was the movie “The Sixth Sense.” That movie encapsulates my childhood perfectly, as I imagine it did for other psychic children like myself.
My Christian background helped me survive my childhood, while my green hearthcraft practice keeps me going now. There aren’t many things I’m afraid of nowadays, and I have since discovered that not all demons are pure evil. I’ve even worked with a few.
I’ve also since discovered that ghosts are just people who used to live, just like you and me. Many are stuck out of guilt or shame. Many ghosts are imprints, left over from the past.
Today, we’re going to dig into all of the different ghosts, spirits, and entities there are, as well as ghost hauntings. I’m also going to share with you how to communicate with the dead and how to set trapped ghosts free.
Ghost witchery is serious business! This is the type of spirit work that requires a lot of protection and defense magick. Many ghost witches enter it hoping to help people, even though those people have already passed away and are still very much part of the material earth.
Graveyard witches also work with the spirits of deceased animals, often spending time in pet cemeteries. These types of witches enjoy helping animals, even in the afterlife. Many of them practice animal witchcraft.
Looking back, I think I was always a witch. All of the signs were there, even as a little girl. Everything from communicating with ghosts to making friends with the fae was a huge part of my childhood. I even remember singing to the rose bush when I was a kid because I knew it enjoyed my melodic voice.
Maybe you have a similar story. Maybe there was a house you walked by as a child that would always give you a bad feeling, or a doll given to you that felt so evil, you wanted nothing to do with it.
Perhaps you’ve lived in a haunted house or near a graveyard with wandering ghost spirits. Maybe you, too, could see, hear, and feel things other people couldn’t.
Maybe you’re in the Halloween spirit, and love learning about spooky things this time of year, and want to approach it with an open mind. It’s okay to be somewhat skeptical. In fact, I think it’s downright healthy.
The veil is thin as we approach the Samhain Holiday, making it the perfect time to communicate with the spirits of the dead. The barrier between the earthly and spiritual realms somewhat blurs this time of year.
It’s time to place pumpkins on the porch for protection, wear a cross around your neck, and light candles for your ancestors. Samhain Season is the perfect time to learn about wandering graveyard spirits!
It’s the only time of year when it’s acceptable to embrace the weird, the strange, and the macabre. Unless, of course, you’re a witch, in which case you can learn about oddities and curiosities all year long!

Ghost Witchcraft: Working With the Dead
Ghost magick includes practices like talking with the dead, ancestor veneration, and seances, to name a few. There are many ways to connect with the spirit of a ghost or a deceased loved one, often involving different forms of divination.
Tarot cards, crystal balls, Ouija boards, and seances are divinatory practices that help a ghost witch communicate with the dead. Communicating with the dead is known as necromancy, which is often used in graveyard witchcraft.
Necromancy involves not only divination practices but also often includes the summoning of the dead to read the future or discover hidden knowledge that’s been locked away. Once you are unalived, you can see things that weren’t previously available to you.
This is because the life we live, with our souls encased in a physical body, is only a glimpse of what we can actually see. In the afterlife, we can see everything we couldn’t see before, and gain understanding and wisdom from the life we once lived.
We live on this earth for a short time, but our presence here makes a huge impact! We’re here to learn lessons, make connections, and change the world through kindness, technology, and advanced medicine. Our legacy lives on long after we do!
However, we should never, ever wish to become a ghost. Some people become ghosts because they loved this life too much. They loved it so much that they never, ever want to leave.
What these ghost spirits don’t realize is that they’ll most likely be back again to begin another life journey in a brand-new body. This is so the soul can keep evolving, growing, and learning more lessons.
Of course, a soul can also choose not to come back and become a spirit guide for the living. Spirit guides, much like the ancestors, were once living people. They choose to share their knowledge and wisdom by guiding a living person on their personal journey.
There are also people who become ghosts because they have a strong ego. These are often the people who live in fear-based thoughts and are eternally trapped in hopeless situations. I almost became one of those people at one point in my life.
It was during a dark period in my life when I was going to commit suicide because I was trapped in a hopeless situation and was detached from the rest of the world. I was lonely, isolated, and experiencing dissociation.
Disassociation is when someone with borderline personality disorder detaches from reality as a coping mechanism. It’s a strange and disturbing feeling that makes you feel like you’re not real.
I believe some people who choose to end their lives become ghosts for this very reason. By no means do I believe all people who commit suicide become ghosts. Some happily slough off their bodies and pass into the afterlife, happy to be free.
But many, like myself, can end up sticking around out of the fear, guilt, shame, and hopelessness that caused them to commit suicide in the first place. Fortunately, someone stepped in, and I got the help I needed. If not, I’m quite sure it would have taken me some time to pass to the other side, and I would have been stuck in that apartment for what would seem like eternity.
When I left my apartment, I truly believed I had left an imprint behind because of my hopeless state of mind. I was a ghost, without actually being dead. Therefore, I believe we can leave imprints on our environments even while we’re still alive.
We are all still spirits, after all. We’re just spirits that happen to have physical bodies. This is also why we’re able to communicate with spirits on the Other Side. This is why we must show kindness, compassion, and empathy to the deceased who need our help and guidance.
This is why many witches become ghost witches. The ghost witch is essentially a death witch whose primary spirit work involves helping the dead, whether human or animal.
The ghost witch not only communicates with the dead but also helps trapped spirits cross into the afterlife with ease and grace. They also practice graveyard witchcraft and spend a lot of time in graveyards and cemeteries consorting with the dead.
The graveyard witch often collects graveyard dirt from their local graveyard with the gatekeeper's permission; the gatekeeper is also a ghost. They can work with specific gravesites or the spirit of the graveyard or cemetery.
Graveyard spirits are those who have their final resting place in a graveyard or cemetery. Just like living humans, ghost spirits can be good, bad, or downright malicious. This is why this type of work requires a lot of protection and defense magick.
This type of witch will often put up protection before, during, and after practicing graveyard magick. If you want to work with graveyard spirits, you might be interested in building a rapport with the Greek Goddess Hekate. She is the goddess of graveyards, crossroads, witchcraft, and liminal spaces.
She can offer you an extra layer of protection while working the graveyard shift. She can intuitively lead you to the grave spirits that would be happy to work with you in exchange for offerings and upkeep.
If you’d simply like to work with the dead from the comfort of home, Hekate can protect your home by filtering out dark entities, poltergeists, and mischievous spirits who may wish to trick you.
I would also recommend working with the baneful moon, also known as the waning moon, which is a phase known for left-handed magick. This will be an especially auspicious time for death witchery!
If you’ve made it this far, you may have what it takes to work with the dead. The dead include loved ones, pets, ancestors, graveyard spirits, and ghosts. Let’s talk about how to become a ghost and why you should never, ever want to become one.
I’ve already mentioned how it can happen, but let’s delve into the nether regions of the underworld, the plane where the dead ones exist in the afterlife. I’ll also touch on demon witchcraft and dark entities.
Signs of Spirit Attachment
Not all ghosts are malicious, but not all ghosts are kind either. It’s important to remember it’s their ego keeping them in the earthly realm, which means they will often attach themselves to a human as a spirit attachment.
Spirit attachments latch onto a living human spirit to sustain their life force. This often disrupts the living person’s life. A spirit attachment often occurs because a spirit is confused or attracted to your energy's vibrational match.
A person who is vulnerable, for example, would be somebody a ghost can latch onto. This is especially true of anyone who has severe mental illness, suicidal ideation, or even a small child with psychic abilities.
For the most part, this is not something most people have to worry about, but as a hedge witch, someone who walks between worlds, this is something that can happen, but only if you don’t take the proper precautions. Now, I don’t believe in fear-mongering, but I’ve always believed in the power of protection and preventative measures.
Do you leave your doors unlocked when you go to bed each night? Probably not. This is just practical magic at its best. You always work with the mundane first, then set up magical protection from there.
In other words, it’s better to be safe than sorry! When you dabble in ghost work, you dabble in darker forces. You are working with the unseen world, which can be unpredictable at best.
That being said, let’s talk about the signs of spirit attachment. This can work for you and all of your loved ones, too. Before jumping to conclusions, be sure to look into the mundane first.
Feeling emotionally and physically drained for no apparent reason
Feeling cold spots from out of nowhere
Brain fog and fatigue
Erratic mood swings that come from out of nowhere
Recurring nightmares (dreaming about someone else’s life)
A feeling of constantly being watched
Inexplicable thoughts that don’t feel like your own (hearing voices, intrusive thoughts, etc.)
Disappearing or moving objects
Changes in your pet’s behavior
Distortion of space and time
The inability to focus or concentrate
Again, many of these signs can be connected to the mundane, so it’s important to eliminate those first. Mental illness is the first thing you should look into when considering many of these signs.
I would also consider the situation you’re in. Are you living in a house with paranormal activity? Do you live near a graveyard? Is there something in your life that is haunting you?
Many signs can be attributed to emotional trauma that hasn’t been dealt with. When trauma happens, haunting can come from within, as parts of you break off and become fragmented as a form of protection.
I’m of the mind, 9 times out of 10, you’ll know if a spirit has attached itself to you, especially if you’re a witch who works left-handed magic. Which, let’s face it, most of us do. Not everything in witchcraft is light and fluffy.
How to Become a Ghost (And why you don’t want to!)
The factors involved in becoming a ghost are the impressions on our ego mind at the time of death. Our ego mind is there to protect us, but it is separate from the gods we believe in, or, in some cases, don’t believe in.
This means it’s all about the mind and less about the soul. This is why shadow work is a witch’s best friend. It helps us tap into the deepest, darkest parts of our psyche, so that we can deal with them.
Shadow work uncovers the secrets we take to our grave and the lies we tell ourselves to survive. Shadow work will help you deal with the skeletons in your closet, so that your ego doesn’t have a final say in what happens to you in the afterlife.
I’ve already covered how suicidal thoughts, ideation, psychosis, and dissociation pave the way to becoming a ghost, for the living, because while still alive, these people are stuck in between. They have one foot in the earthly realm and one foot on the Other Side. They are stuck there until they decide whether to end their lives or not.
However, for some people who commit suicide, they stay stuck between worlds out of guilt, fear, shame, and maybe even regret. Others are able to shed their bodies and head happily to the afterlife!
Suicide isn’t the only way to become a ghost. What type of death did the person have? Was it violent, natural, or peaceful? Some spirits become ghosts based on the manner of death.
For example, if someone was murdered, which is a tragic death, they might stick around to seek justice. They want their murderer to be caught and prosecuted before they can move on.
If someone’s life is snuffed out before the soul is ready, they may stick around, wishing to gather all the life-force energy that they can. This kind of death can either be tragic or occur with someone who died young, and never really got the chance to live a full life.
People who are evil, jealous, and malicious might become ghosts, too. These people might stick around to cause trouble and continue to create grief in the afterlife because that’s their true nature. These are the ghosts that will often become poltergeists.
Then, there are the homeowners and the landowners. Their property, whether it be their home or land, became so a part of their identity that they couldn’t part with it. This is how many house hauntings occur.
You don’t ever want to become a ghost. Becoming a ghost means living in the ego mind permanently. It means feeding off the energy of living humans to keep going and being trapped between worlds.
How to Free Trapped Ghosts
I have had a lot of experiences with wandering ghost spirits, grifting around, kind of lost, and kind of found. We, the psychics, mediums, and witches of the world, are the ones who often find them and have the ability to set them free.
What does it mean to set a ghost free? It means getting them unstuck from the in-between so they can happily move on to the afterlife. Some ghost folks don’t want to move on out of fear.
It often stems from a belief that they will be punished in the afterlife for past transgressions. For example, people who grew up in a strict religious household may feel they are going to hell for something they did while they were alive.
It’s up to the ghost witch to help them see that there’s absolutely nothing to be afraid of. Regular folks who make mistakes and do their best will end up in a pleasant afterlife. This includes people society deemed “bad” because of mental illness, prostitution, or just generally not being a good person in their current lives.
These people just need more soul growth than the rest of us, and that’s perfectly okay. That doesn’t mean they are beyond repair and can’t come back for another life and try again. We’ve all met people like this.
The people who are truly reprehensible and evil do indeed have a special place waiting for them that I like to call hell. To land there, you’d have to be somebody truly irredeemable, a dark entity masquerading as a human.
I would also like to point out that personal beliefs and religion can shape the afterlife you enter. Each religion has its own version of heaven, hell, and the in-between. They just have different names for it.
What you believe in this life creates the afterlife you’re going to have. In your personal afterlife, you’ll see gods from many different pantheons, and perhaps a slightly different landscape and scenery based on your beliefs.
To free a ghost, you are going to have to communicate with it. You must start by acknowledging its presence. Sometimes ghosts don’t even realize they're ghosts! They often get disoriented and confused in the death process.
As a child, I never wanted to know what the ghosts wanted. I was too terrified to find out. Nowadays, it doesn’t bother me at all. It’s important to remember that ghosts are just people who once lived, like you and me.
Sit down with a divinatory tool, such as a pendulum, tarot cards, or tea leaves (whatever works best for you), and have a direct conversation with the ghost. Try to be kind and empathetic, while still pushing back and establishing boundaries.
Your goal is to find out what it wants. Once you know that, you can help make it happen so they feel ready to move on. Maybe they have a pearl necklace hidden away somewhere that they want their great-great-granddaughter to have, or perhaps they just want to say goodbye to their loved ones or beloved pet.
If it’s a friendly ghost, they will tell you. You might see it in a vision, a download of information, or through symbols. If it’s an unfriendly or harassing ghost, you might have to push back a little more to maintain your boundaries.
If it’s something you can help them with, such as ensuring their beloved pet has a home (if recently deceased) or providing their family with a comforting message, try to do so. If it’s not something you can help them with, then you are going to have to explain that to them in a forthright manner.
If they get defensive, put that boundary up, and push back. We’ll talk about boundaries in a minute, but they are highly important when working with the dead. If a spirit is unfriendly, you’ll have to stand your ground and command it to leave.
If a spirit is troubled, gently explain that they are dead and that it’s safe for them to move on to the afterlife. Let them know there’s nothing to be afraid of. Create a pathway to guide them toward the light.
You can do this through candle witchcraft. Light a candle to help them find their way. Open windows and doors, so that they can be released to the Other Side.
Additionally, you can call upon their spirit guides, guardian angels, and ancestors to help them cross over. I often call upon a psychopomp to assist them in finding their way. Usually, I’ll call on Goddess Hekate, the goddess of graveyards and ghosts.
But I also call on Hades, the Greek God of the underworld, and his wife, Queen Persephone. They rule the underworld and know how to wrangle up displaced spirits and return them safely home.
Ghosts respond to burning herb bundles such as sage, rosemary, and sweetgrass. These herbs help them remember their way home into the afterlife.
You can also use cleansing waters, such as Florida water, to cleanse the area where the ghost once stood. Be sure to perform a full blessing ritual afterward to cleanse your home of any trace of the ghost!
When the ghost crosses over, you’ll feel it and know it in your bones. Ghosts are cold, and temperatures drop when they are around. The air always feels a little different in their presence.
When they are free, you’ll feel free, too! Everything sort of goes back to normal, and all becomes right in the universe. It’s a pleasant, warm, tingly feeling.
Boundaries and Ghost Magick
If you’re going to work with ghosts, you’ll need to know how to put up what I like to call borders, boundaries, mountains, and walls. This is a method that I use in home defense and protection magick.
First, let’s put up a border. A border signifies any kind of limit or place for a spirit, person, or entity to stop. They can’t go past the limit between our world and theirs. To create a salt border, draw a solid line at the entryways of your home. This includes doorways and windowsills. I place salt in bowls around my home if I feel my border weakening, and it works perfectly.
Secondly, let’s talk about boundaries in witchcraft. A boundary marks the limit, either imaginary or physical. In witchcraft, this is a line that ghosts, dark entities, and maleficent spirits cannot and will not cross. In green hearthcraft, the boundary might be the home or on the property line, for example.
Third, let’s talk about mountains in witchcraft. A mountain is like a huge obstacle that neither humans nor spirits can get through without an invitation. This is so huge, in fact, that they wouldn’t even try. I use mountains when I want nothing getting in or out of my space. This often includes benevolent spirits, too. A mountain is more difficult to put up, but also more difficult to take down. This, in my opinion, is the ultimate protection, and it’s made up of every kind of protection one can have.
Last, but not least, let’s talk about walls in witchcraft. A wall is like a fortress that keeps you in and them out. You can contain anything inside the fortress you might like to protect, including loved ones and beloved pets. The fortress is a safe place, often constructed with DIY botanical energy shields or shields made from one of the four elements. For example, you can put up a fiery wall of protection with Saint Bridget to protect and keep inside everything that’s yours.
Most of the time, in ghost witchcraft, a boundary is sufficient to keep ghost spirits at bay. Most ghosts are friendly, but it’s always important to practice safety first when dealing with the underworld. Always start with a boundary or border. Salt, energy shields, smudging, animal guardians, and wards are the perfect way to set up your barrier.
You can also wear a protective amulet by enchanting nature-inspired accessories! Amulets act as a ward, keeping bad energies and people away. It’s almost like a skunk releasing a stink to protect themselves.
Adding a splash of Florida water to your wrists and behind your ears, as you would with perfume, can help protect your personal boundaries. Cleaning with Florida water can protect the home and everyone within it.
When working with ghosts, you’ll need to learn how to keep the ghosts at bay. Some ghosts can be aggressive, in which case you’ll need to have your protections handy. Ghosts sometimes like to push back and test boundaries with humans, much like a small child.
It’s your job to put them in their place. Having physical protection is not enough. You’ll need to be firm with them and command them to leave if they try to cross a boundary. If they see that you’re afraid, there are some ghosts that will feed off of that.
If all else fails, you might have to put a mountain up. A mountain contains everyone on your spiritual team who will go to bat for you. Once you put the mountain up, nothing is getting in, and nothing is getting out. I recommend using this method for house hauntings.
First and foremost, you’ll need to cleanse and bless your home to scare off anything demonic, evil, malicious, or dark. It will rid your home of anything or anyone who is not supposed to be there, now and in the future.
Next, invite in benevolent spirits. These are the house spirits, garden gnomes, the ancestors, witch’s familiars, and guardian spirits and guides.
If you work with deities, angels, and saints, ask them to enter your home within a force field of protection. Invite in everyone and everything good, golden, and filled with light. Visualize them inside your home and garden, and around the perimeter of your property.
Last but not least, ask the home itself to protect you, your loved ones, and your beloved pets and plants. A haunted house is not inherently evil. It’s the portal that invites in evil spirits, dark entities, poltergeists, and demons that mean to do you harm.
Over time, they decay the house, rot it from the inside, and wear it down. The house literally becomes sick. That is how haunted houses are created.
It can start with something so small that it might as well be a pinprick. Then, it grows, darkens, and glooms. The house is taken over by the spirits that have made their way through the portal, which started as a pinprick.
With the mountain, your home, and everything contained within, will be taken over by benevolent spirits. The mountain is impenetrable. To create the mountain, you’ll have to raise a lot of energy.
Calling on the benevolent spirits instantly raises energy, especially if you have a strong bond with them, which I highly recommend. Learning how to be a house witch is also a safe bet for connecting with the true spirit and essence of the home you dwell in.
Take my home, for example. Nothing is getting in. Nothing is getting out. I’ve built a mountain of protection around my home.
This kind of protection also works against home intruders that come in human form. I decided to put a mountain up because we live in a world full of rapists, thieves, and murderers. I still practice the mundane, locking three locks on my door, and closing blinds so people can’t see in at night, but magically speaking, nothing is getting in, and good, kind spirits are here to stay!
How to Make a Good Imprint
I’ve already spoken about how imprints can be made through tragic events in time. An imprint repeats itself over and over again. For example, a civil war scene on repeat.
But what if you could make a good imprint? One that’s not built on tragedy, sorrow, and pain. Sure, it’s a little more difficult, but it can be done!
A good imprint can be made by a truly heartfelt, heartwarming, and loving event! We make good imprints accidentally all the time. Why not make one with intention?
Think of some heartwarming moments in your life. Your first love, the birth of a child, and even the purchase of your first home. These are warm, happy moments built to last!
Nostalgia is something our society thrives on. What is a life without magical moments in time that live on forever? Those are the moments we cling to, keeping us going during difficult times.
To make a strong impression, you’re going to have to put a lot of emotion behind it! Tears of joy, happiness, warmth, and comfort. Happy memories!
Start with the intention to create a specific moment. Create a magical ritual that you can do by yourself or with the people, pets, and plants you love and care about.
Plan on catching fireflies in jars as you did in childhood! Use those fireflies in a spell or ritual. Some of my best moments have been when I’m performing magic!
Head to the beach right before a summer thunderstorm. Walk in the forest by moonlight. Create a cozy autumn picnic with your honey. You get the point!
Raise energy, raise positive emotions, and let the magic penetrate the air you breathe! This is how you make a good imprint. Make it count!
If you want to create a good imprint in your home, for your future great-great-grandchildren to enjoy, do something that evokes benevolent spirits, raises good energy, and creates powerful emotions within you and all around you. You never know when something like tending the garden with tears of joy will create an imprint for generations.
Working With Friendly Ghosts
There is such a thing as friendly ghosts! These ghost spirits are the deceased loved ones who watch over us, such as our ancestors. Many of them watch over us, check in on us, and guide us.
My first grandchild passed away at two months old, and he still stops by to say hello. He comes to me in vivid dreams, and when I talk about him, I can always feel his sweet presence. I firmly believe he watches over his baby sisters, who came after he passed.
I also have a great, great-grandmother, Sylvia, who frequently visits me and often comes through in my writing. She has the kindest, strongest energy, and I have nothing but admiration for her. She walked away from an abusive situation and was murdered for it, but I admire her strength for walking away.
Sometimes, I can feel the energy of my deceased loved ones in a warm, tingling sensation. It almost feels like they are petting my hair and comforting me when I need it the most. It feels like warmth, love, and safety.
Friendly ghosts act as guides and often have wisdom and knowledge about life because of their time on Earth. They come to me in my dreams and sleep. They caress me when I’m sad. They warn me when there’s imminent danger coming.
Friendly ghosts are often the spirits of the deceased who have already crossed over and return to guide, support, and help in any way they can. You might suddenly smell their perfume, a book you need might fall off a shelf, or a feather might fall directly into your hand.
That’s the power of the spirits of the dead at work. At the end of the day, we are never really dead; we are alive in a different way, with all of our senses open. Our life-force energy, our energetic blueprint, our imprint will live on long after we leave this earth.
