Cozy Tea Witchcraft Rituals For a Magical Life
Cozy Tea Witchcraft Rituals for a Magical Life covers tea magick spells, tea leaf readings, and intention tea blends with The Green Hearth Witch! Tea magick is one of the easiest, low-energy spells you can do, especially for the spoonie witch. You can easily incorporate tea into your craft!
Tea witchery is something that I began long ago! It’s a branch of kitchen witchcraft that incorporates the magical uses of tea. First and foremost, it’s important to remember that tea comes from plants. Herbal tea blends are created to promote calmness, relaxation, sleep, and revitalization.
In House Witchcraft: Witchy Goals for My New Home, I wanted to create more green kitchen witch spell recipes, and some of those recipes include the magic of tea! My boyfriend and I have tea several nights a week, and I’ve been exploring different ways to make it.
During the Summer Solstice, I love making sun tea powered by this bright and sunny pagan holiday! Sometimes, I’ll even leave an offering of libation to the Sun God Apollo, who appears most prominent during this summer celebration.
I have come to find that making tea spells can be done with witchy holidays, the seasonal shifts, the moon phases, and the cycles of life. This includes tea for astrological transits and planetary retrogrades.
For example, as I’m writing this, we’re in Mercury Retrograde energy, prompting us to slow down and become reflective. You can make a retrograde tea blend to put back for those times when life becomes too busy and chaotic. It will help mellow you out and slow life down.
What’s nice about this is that you hold the reins to life! You can choose how you want it to go based on the tea blends you create. So, get ready to pour some tea!
During full-moon magic, I love creating what is known as moon tea. Just like sun tea, you leave it out, but in this case, it’s left under the light of the full moon. Be sure to leave it in an enclosed container, preferably glass.
This can be done through all of the lunar phases if you like, simply by creating tea blends for each moon phase. This gives you something to fall back on during dark, difficult times when you need it the most.
Working with the magic of tea can be rewarding, especially if you stick with it long-term! You’ll notice it becomes a cozy ritual in your life that you can repeat. The more you practice, the more perfect it becomes!
Cozy Tea Witchcraft Rituals for a Magical Life
What makes tea magical is the intention you put into it! You are going to look at the ritual of making tea like you would any other spell. That requires starting with an intention that sticks!
What is your intention? It’s what you’d like to get out of the spell. It’s what you’d like to manifest into existence. Try to make your intention as specific as possible, leaving wiggle room for the spell to do its thing!
If you intend to receive money, ask for the specific amount that you’d like, but make it believable. For example, you’re probably not going to receive a million dollars overnight if that isn’t realistic for you.
Clarifying your tea magick spells gives your spellwork somewhere to run to, somewhere to go! Spells always take the path of least resistance.
The next thing you’re going to do is choose tea herbs that match your intention! For example, if your goal is to reach a dream state of consciousness known as a hedge riding, you might like to choose herbs accordingly. Here, you’ll need herbs that make you sleepy, as well as develop psychic insights.
Last night, I did a spell for one of my daughters who is a little behind on rent. I used my blooming flower teapot. I watched as the water slowly began to bubble, speeding up my intention. Then, I added the flower and watched it unfurl, bringing my spell to life!
This spell was simple yet effective! I used water magick, fire witchcraft, and, of course, the blooming green tea flower to bring great speed to the spell. Green tea has a lot of caffeine, making it perfect for speeding things up!
Choose your herbs carefully and always watch the warning labels! Teas like mugwort and wormwood are not considered safe for pregnant women to consume.
Last but not least, you’ll want to put your spell together. Depending on what kind of teapot you have, you can use tea bags or loose-leaf tea to craft your creations. You can also try the blooming teas to unfurl a flower and watch your manifestation come to life!
You should also consider what you’ll be putting in your tea. Some people like it plain, while others like milk, honey, and raw cane sugar. Those features can be added as part of your spellwork!
Added Tea Features
Milk- Represents healing, nourishment, abundance, and motherhood. It’s connected to the divine feminine and the fertility she brings.
Honey - Represents sweetness, binding, slow magick, and love of all kinds. It can be used to bind something from you or attract something sweet into your life! I typically use it in spells for sweetening.
Sugar - Represents speed, sweetness, gentleness, love, and attraction! While honey acts as a slow agent, sugar tends to speed things up, though it doesn’t always last as long in spells.
Cinnamon - Represents action, speed, prosperity, and longevity! Cinnamon works fast, but it’s in for the long haul. This means that cinnamon leaves long-lasting effects and residuals. You can use ground cinnamon or stir intention into your tea with a cinnamon stick!
Vanilla - Represents calm, warm, cozy undertones that can be used in spells for love, attraction, and prosperity! You can use a bourbon vanilla bean to stir your intention into your tea or a capful of vanilla extract to add flavor. Vanilla acts as a sweet binder in the spell, helping it endure. Think in terms of enduring love.
Lemon - Represents the sun, happiness, detoxification, and clarifying properties. Some people add lemon to their tea blend when they have a cold or the flu. Tea helps open up the throat and soothes it. Lemon works great in an herbal tea remedy!
Cardamom - Represents comfort, warmth, and stability. It has warm and cozy vibes through and through. Cardamom can be used for comfort during difficult times and to highlight the rosy vibes of the holidays. Cardamom and milk tea blend make a perfect kind of magic for rainy days and Sundays!
Boba - Represents uplifting vibes, acts as a mood booster, and provides energy and nourishment for all who drink it! Boba tea is like tiny tapioca pearls that give you something to nosh on as you enjoy your tea. To be honest, I think of boba tea as fun, positive, and all good vibes!
Lavender - Represents sleep, relaxation, calm, dream states, and positive moods! You can use lavender herb in beauty spells and to induce a dream-like state. You can use lavender sprigs to stir your intention into your tea or for beauty and aesthetics. In other words, it makes your tea look pretty!
How to Turn Tea Magick Spells Into Rituals
A spell is typically something you’ll do once, while a ritual is something that is practiced over and over again. That’s why rituals and routines often go together!
To make a cozy tea ritual, you might like to do the same spell each time you make tea! This means you are putting the same intention into your tea ritual each time, so that it has sticking power that energizes and builds up over a long period. This gives your spell staying power!
I have a sleepytime tea ritual that I do several nights a week. I’ll make tea for myself and my boyfriend and whisper my sweet incantations into it, usually about sleeping peacefully and remembering our dreams when we wake up in the morning. It works!
On the nights I do this, we usually sleep well and talk about it in the morning. On the nights that I don’t, we have other methods for falling asleep with calm and peacefulness in our hearts. I’ve noticed the difference!
Repetition matters in tea magic rituals! The more you do something, the more concrete it becomes. The goal is to create rituals that work best for you.
I’ve also created cozy tea rituals for the holiday season! As a weather witch, I look to the seasons to dictate which kind of tea I’d like to brew. When the leaves begin to turn, I turn to cozy tea spells that provide a cold snap. You can use tea to change the weather!
For the autumn equinox, I think about things that make me feel warm and cozy. A tea blend with cardamom, milk, and maple syrup works best here. I envision red sweaters, colorful leaves, and open windows with the cool air wafting through. This has become my autumn tea ritual, and it works like a charm every time!
For the winter solstice, I long for warmth and comfort. I like to feel like there’s some stability and groundedness in my life as I head into the new year. A comfy house tea blend is usually in order here. This means notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla bean in my ritual tea. This tea blend brings comfort during the cold winter months and makes you feel warm inside!
For the spring equinox, I think about things that make me feel light and airy! A floral tea blend is usually in order here. I love using butterfly weed, also known as pleurisy root, lemongrass, and lavender. This tea is all about new beginnings and springtime energy! Additionally, it brings a cool zephyr into open windows and screen doors.
For the summer solstice, I think about things that are calm, cooling, and sweet. A sun tea ice blend is usually in order here. I often make floral ice cubes as part of my spell ritual to activate the tea. This tea reminds me of long, languishing summers and wraparound porches with rocking chairs. This spell is meant to cool you down during those hot summer months!
As you can see, there are many ways to make personalized cozy tea witchcraft rituals! It’s important to let your intuition guide you and always be open to the surprises that may come your way. The repetition is what brings your spell ritual to life!
