How to Enchant Nature-Inspired Accessories

Much like making an herbal astral servitor, enchanting your clothing, shoes, handbags, and other accessories brings them to life! It can make magical things happen in your life. You might have an extraordinary bout of good luck.
This, my friend, is called glamour magick! What is the glamour of witchcraft? Glamour can be used to change how we feel about ourselves and how the world perceives us.
This is an area of witchcraft that enhances natural beauty and attractiveness. You might like to try my hiking pretty spell for some beauty magic in the forest!
In green witchcraft, I also call this kind of spellwork by the name of wearable nature. With wearable nature, one incorporates the elements of magical nature into their everyday wardrobe! This can be anything from living flower barrettes to wearable planters.
As someone who practices green witchcraft, I tend to veer toward nature-inspired accessories. You can learn more about this in my Field Notes on Green Witchery: Natural Magic article! Everything in my life, from my clothing to my lifestyle, revolves around the world of plants.
While this lesson focuses on enchanting nature-inspired accessories, much like a green witch would do, you can use glamour to enchant anything you like! It’s all about mastery and finding helpful items that enrich your life.
The heart of enchanting an everyday, mundane item lies in animism, the belief that everything has a soul. This can be any stick, rock, crystal, or flower. This can be any kind of household item!
What matters is waking the item up and bringing it to life! Some items are ensouled passively. These are the items that need to be awakened. These are items such as cauldrons, yoga mats, websites, and kitchenware.
Then some items are more actively awakened right from the start! These actively ensouled items include snails, plant allies, gemstones, and flowers. These items are awake!
How to Wake Up An Ensouled Item
Some items need to be awakened by the witchcraft practitioner! These are the items that are passively awake. Again, televisions, computers, cell phones, handbags, and cameras might fall under this category. The list could go on!
It’s important to use your witchy intuition to know which items to bring to life! Things like plant life and items set against the backdrop of nature tend to already have an active awakening underway. This gives you something of a living substance to work with.
Waking up an ensouled item is really easy! Be sure to hold or touch the item and ask it to awaken to its lifeforce energy. I have done this with my yoga mat, for example, and it has become a living, breathing entity.
Once you awaken something, you can then enchant it! So, the first call of order is to awaken it, and the second step is to enchant it with glamour. Glamour can be any kind of intention that revolves around looks, beauty, anti-aging, and earning compliments and worship!
Again, a glamour is created to affect or change how someone sees you and how you see yourself. This can work for weight loss, beauty, grace, poise, and youthfulness! It can work for anything once you become accomplished with this particular skill.
Field Trip Assignment
Take a walk in the forest, park, or even around your neighborhood, and collect items that are naturally shed. Choose items that resonate with you, or you get a feeling for. Keep them in a basket or bag and bring them home.
When you get home, choose the item that most resonates with you. How does this item make you feel? What kind of energy do you get from it?
Is this item passive or active? For example, let’s say you find a toy stuffed animal on the ground and take it home; this would be considered a passive item. Take the item out of the bag and awaken it.
Reach into your bag again and find an item that is already active. This might be a pointed rock, a plant clipping, a stick wand, or whatever. You’ll know intuitively when something holds active energy.
Compare and contrast. Do you feel the difference between the passive item and the active item? How did the passive item feel when it was awakened?
You are going to use both your passive and active items and enchant them! Keep them out and spend time with each helpful item, getting to know them. Keep reading to find out how enchantment works!
How to Enchant Nature-Inspired Accessories
To enchant nature-inspired items, you must choose the item you want to enchant with careful consideration! Since this article is focused on nature-inspired accessories, you might like to go with braids in your hair, floral arrangements, hair accessories, handbags, shoes, or your favorite dress.
Next, think about what you’d like to use that item for. What will the glamour be? This is a critical step in enchanting items. Take your time with it and think it through.
Sometimes, it will immediately come to you, and you’ll know. Other times, you might have to hold the item for a bit and see what comes to you. It might come through imagery, symbolism, and intuitive downloads. Be open to the possibilities!
For example, I enchanted my hiking backpack. I use it whenever I go hiking or cycling with my boyfriend, so I wanted to do something that would benefit both of us. I enchanted it to make magical things happen to us anytime we use it!
After all, who doesn’t love surprises? Whenever we hike, walk, or cycle, something magical happens to us. We receive new blessings as a reward for a.) Wearing the backpack b.) Hiking, walking, and cycling. It’s all good!
Find the glamour that will work best for you! Look at it as something you a.) Want to see in yourself or b.) Want others to see in you or perceive you as! You can have a lot of fun with this.
Once you’ve figured out what you’d like your glamour intention to be, you can then proceed with enchanting your nature-inspired accessory! This is the fun part.
There are many different ways to enchant an item and make it magical. The possibilities are endless! I am going to share a few ways to proceed with this. Feel free to alter or change things according to how they make you feel intuitively.
Spell Jar Enchantment for Handbags, Backpacks, and Lunch Boxes
When I have something handheld I’d like to enchant, I will often make a small spell jar to carry with me wherever I go! This spell jar goes in the purse, backpack, wallet (if it fits), or lunchbox.
You can fit it inside the corner pockets or in the lining of the purse, however you like. You can keep it hidden or hidden in plain sight. Again, the possibilities are endless!
To keep things simple, I’m going to share with you the formula for my spell jar of hidden blessings and surprises! This glamour attracts good and magical things to you. Typically, these will get serendipitous, unexpected things, much like the planet Uranus!
To amplify the magic behind this spell, Wednesday would be the ideal day to do it. Why? Wednesday, much like the planet Mercury, is the day when the planet Uranus is most active. Uranus is the planet of awakenings and surprises, and can give a highly beneficial boost to this spell!
Spell Jar of Hidden Blessings and Surprises
The spell jar of hidden blessings and surprises works great for carry-on items. It can even be used in travel bags and luggage while traveling to faraway places! It can be placed in your purse, lunchbox, and/or backpack to ensure magic comes your way every day.
What are hidden blessings and surprises? Hidden blessings are the little things in life that are just beneath the surface, ready to break through. This spell brings those hidden blessings out of hiding!
Hidden surprises are those things in life that are unexpected and serendipitous. These are the good surprises in life, as well as those lucky, fortuitous moments that we all hope for.
With this spell, anytime you wear your magical item, some kind of hidden blessing and surprise will come out of hiding and into the light! This could be something small or big, depending on the day.
What types of hidden blessings and surprises will be received?
Magical moments in time (sunrise, sunset, a shooting star, a random firefly in your path, etc.)
Compliments and praise
Honor and respect
An act of kindness or generosity
Small and random gifts
Naturally shed or found items such as a key, locket, painted rock, deer antlers, or butterfly wings
The meeting with random, kind strangers and interesting people
Free Items (a free ice cream cone, beer on the house, or someone paying your bill at a restaurant)
Photographs that capture magical moments in time
An encounter with a deity, nature spirit, or familiar
Signs from Mother Nature (bird messages, deer encounters, bunnies, etc)
To make the spell jar, you’ll want to gather up a few ingredients, using your witchy intuition. When I think of hidden blessings and surprises, I think of fun!
Spell Jar Ingredients
Dried Butterfly Weed - (Denotes transformation, beauty, healing, and change!)
Dill - (Denotes luck, lust, desire, and results!)
Lapis Lazuli Crystals - (Denotes fun, creativity, the fair realm, and magical happenings!)
Glitter - (Denotes childhood magic, creativity, glamour magic, beauty, and transformative powers!)
Cinnamon Bark - (Denotes luck, speed, unexpected windfalls, success, and victory!)
Tiny Seashells - (Denotes home, protection, beauty, and sea witch glamour magic!)
Patchouli - (Denotes good fortune, luck, prosperity, love, and success!)
Raspberry - (Denotes friendship, kindness, and generosity!)
Be sure to add anything else to the spell jar that fits into place using your intuition. Things that are naturally found, hidden, or unexpected would fit in here. In addition to that, be sure to add a taglock to your spell jar!
As you place each item in the spell jar, be sure to put your intention into it! In this case, the intention is your glamour, which is how you wish to see yourself or be perceived by the world. For this spell, we are focusing on hidden blessings and surprises!
To put your intention into something is to feel its energy. You can do this by visualizing, listening to music, and chanting your glamour intention aloud. Do whatever it takes to manipulate and work up a proper amount of energy!
Personalize Your Spell
There are many different ways you can personalize your spell! You can use taglocks (skin, hair, nail clippings, etc.), choose different herbs and crystals, add a tarot card, or write a poem to the nature spirits. The sky is the limit when it comes to customization.
I recommend using your intuition to guide you! If you feel a specific astrological correspondence or want to switch out an herb or crystal, go for it. This is how you improve spellwork and amplify your magical prowess!
Taglocks
Taglocks are physical items taken from your personal body and self. It can be blood, a lock of hair, a piece of skin, piss, or saliva. Since this is a beauty spell, I would leave piss out of it. Save those for baneful spells and curses.
By adding a piece of yourself to your spell, it brings the magic right back to you! It will lend strength and credence to your spell, telling the magic where it needs to go and who it needs to go to.
Choose Personal Herbs
Is there another beauty herb that resonates better with you? Cool! Go with that. Maybe basil herb plays better with your brand of magic. There’s only one way to find out for sure.
Choose Personal Crystals
You can choose to use the crystals I laid out in the groundwork for this spell or choose something different. Different crystals work with different people in unique and special ways. Again, follow your intuition and take a leap of faith!
Add A Tarot Card Taglock
Is there a tarot card that resonates with you? The court cards have some boss energy when it comes to beauty and attraction! The empress embodies all of the queens in the tarot deck, while the queen of wands is known for her beauty, sex appeal, and confidence.
Once you’ve added your taglock, you can seal your spell jar! To seal your spell jar, you can pour candle wax over the cork or use a freshly squeezed orange (for abundance, fertility, and riches), a freshly squeezed lemon (energizing, refreshing, and cleansing), or a freshly squeezed grapefruit (happiness, joy, delight, cleansing, and focus). Allow the candle wax or juices to dry.
Beauty and Enchantment Knot Magic Braid
For this spell, you’ll need to braid your hair! This is a form of knot magic. Knot magic can be used to bind, tie something down, or hold it in place. It can be used to bring something into your life each time you braid your hair to solidify it.
For the knot magic braid spell, you can choose to add accessories. Some people weave flowers in their hair or add a bow or ribbon at the end to solidify the spell.
If you choose to weave flowers in your braid, be sure to choose flowers that represent your intention. In this case, your intention is beauty and enchantment. The point behind this spell is to increase your beauty and enchantment through the repetition of the knot.
I tend to do knot magic hair braiding spells at least four times, then update as needed! Four is my favorite number, and it's also a magic number in witchcraft. Think of the Four of Wands Tarot Card!
The number four represents the home, family, stability, security, and strength. It’s a number that denotes togetherness and gatherings. It sometimes represents weddings and celebrations!
To perform this spell, look into the mirror as you braid your hair. It can be one braid, two braids, or however many braids you like. I tend to create a simple, singular braid that goes down my back every other day.
While you look in the mirror, say your intention aloud! I am beautiful and enchanted, and it always works for me. However, feel free to modify your statement accordingly.
When you reach the end of your braid, add a ribbon, hair bow, barrettes, or anything else that looks and feels good on you! Be sure to thank your braid and say blessed be. This spell is now cast and is complete.
Whenever you unravel your braid, this is called air magic! You are releasing your spell into the universe for manifestation, knowing it is done. You can even go so far as to turn your braid into an herbal astral servitor!
Self-love Spell for Enchanting Jewelry and Hair Accessories
For this spell, you’ll be working with jewelry and hair accessories! This spell is great for enhancing confidence, raising self-esteem, and practicing self-love.
For this spell, the focus shifts to how you feel about yourself and your self-perception. Again, it can be used to love and honor yourself more, and to find the buried treasures in your life. What makes you lovable?
You’ll want to begin by cleansing the jewelry or hair accessory you choose! You can do this by placing a selenite wand around your accessories, making sure the wand is close enough to touch them. You can also use sage smoke to cleanse an item or place it in a bowl of sea salt (cleansing, purification, healing) or pink Himalayan sea salt (self-love, worthiness, and purification).
Once your item has been cleansed, you can move forward with the enchanting process! You’ll want to use this method to create a talisman. A talisman can be used as a symbol of good luck or to attract something to you!
For protection and defense magic, you might like to create an amulet! An amulet wards things off and protects you from them. It places a shield around you, as a fortress of defense and fortification. This can be used in conjunction with DIY Botanical Energy Shields.
Hold the nature-inspired accessory in your palm and feel its energy. Start putting your intention into it. Visualize your intention to love yourself more, to honor and respect yourself more, or any variation of what you’d like to manifest. I visualize sending pink floating hearts to my accessory!
Next, lay the item on a flat surface. It can be a counter, cutting board, dresser, or desk. Start adding crystals, tarot cards, oracle cards, and herbs in a flat-lay arrangement around it.

This spell draws attention! If you don’t like getting a lot of attention, then this might not be the spell for you. This spell makes you wildly popular and in demand and can be used for public recognition.
This spell will garner praise, compliments, gifts, and people noticing you. This spell is not for people who wish to be veiled from the public. This is 100% a spell to be seen, heard, and noticed!
I use heart-shaped glasses for this spell because I wear them daily, but you can use any kind of sunglasses to match the energy of this spell. When people think of sunglasses, they think of Hollywood. Hollywood is associated with stars, celebrities, and people in the public eye.
For this spell, you are going to cleanse it and enchant it much the same way you did in the self-love jewelry and hair accessory spell, only enchanting it with different ingredients this time.
Start by holding the sunglasses in your hands and feeling their energy. Then, place your sunglasses on an altar of sorts, which can be any kind of desktop, counter, or tabletop.
Lay your sunglasses on a flat surface and begin placing items around them, making sure they touch. Be sure to put your intention into each item as you lay it out the same way you did before. Chanting, visualizing, listening to music, and feeling the energy of what it would be like to be wildly popular and in demand.
What does that mean to you? It could mean receiving compliments and praise, small gifts, free drinks on a girl’s night out, or making social networking connections. Feel the essence and energy of what that means to you! Let it sink in.

Good Luck Dress Spell
For this spell, you’ll be using your dress or outfit as a talisman to attract good luck and great fortune into your life! For this spell, I typically enchant dresses because I tend to wear them the most. However, I see no reason why it couldn’t be used for any article of clothing or a favorite outfit!
Choose your favorite dress and leave it hanging on a hanger, sewing mannequin, or a flat surface like the bed. You are going to leave your dress here overnight, so be sure to keep that in mind.
If it is hanging up, you’ll want to add hanging necklaces featuring crystals, mushrooms, and herbs. You can even enchant these items previously to amplify their energy. You can spray it with an enchanted perfume or add a little rosemary essential oil to the hanger or the sewing mannequin to enchant it.
Rosemary essential oil will amplify sweet memories and bring in blessings, luck, and desire. It is a time-travel herb! Be sure to put your intention into each item you use for this spell, the same way that you did before.
If the dress is lying flat, choose accessories that complement it to amplify its energy! It could be a mushroom terrarium necklace, a living moss ring, or a wearable planter. The key here is to create an outfit from the dress and use accessories to enhance it.
For this particular spell, I want you to go wild and use your imagination! What items bring you luck? Include them in your outfit.

Charge Your Perfume Bottle Spell
From the hiking pretty spell for natural beauty and attractiveness! This spell can be used in conjunction with any outfit or nature-inspired accessory to amplify its magical properties.
To amplify your charming, magnetic qualities, I recommend charging your perfume bottle during a full moon! Be sure to put your intention into it first.
You can do this by holding the perfume between your hands and visualizing what it would look and feel like if your wish came true. This is a simple way of adding energy to it!
You can repeat your intention aloud several times until you feel an energy shift! This energy shift is what lets you know that your spell has been completed.
You can also add herbs and crystals to your perfume bottle. It depends on whether the bottle you have opened is at the top. Some don’t.
If you can’t open your bottle to add anything, you can add gemstones, tarot cards, and herbal ingredients to the outside of your bottle while it is charging under the light of the full moon. You can create a perfume art flat lay with spell ingredients!

Once you have enchanted your magical items, you have what I love to call a wearable nature spell! This is where magic and nature meet, find each other, and fall in love.
As you become more proficient in glamour magic and enchanting nature-inspired accessories, you might like to venture out! Like any fashion designer or seamstress, you are likely to start enchanting items in your house. This can be furniture, home decor, and accessories.
Practice makes perfect, and it can be fun to play around with your newfound skill. Suddenly, a couch becomes a seating area for ancestor veneration, and a work of art becomes a still life for your life!
Glamour magic can be infused into the everyday, mundane magic of life! It can be used to build confidence, uncover hidden talents, and find employment. It can be woven into any accessory, outfit, or pair of cute shoes.
As you get dressed each day and put on your makeup, you can transform it into an act of magic. As you wash your face at night, apply moisturizer, and brush your teeth, this, too, can become a magical act.
Start thinking of ways to wear your magic using the elements of nature! Use the elements of earth, air, water, fire, wood, and metal to bring your wearable nature to life. Find ways to incorporate the magic of nature into every outfit, and it will open up a world of possibilities for you!
