The Garden Witchcraft Field Guide

The Garden Witchcraft Field Guide covers garden witchcraft spells for home protection and blessings, and gnome magic in the garden with The Green Hearth Witch! Creating a magical witch’s garden is a great place to learn about the magical properties of herbs and plants.

When I think of garden magick, I think of garden familiars, fairies, and gnome magick! I also consider it a great place to start for the beginner witch. Once you begin working in the garden, you become more attuned to the circadian rhythms of nature.

The garden is where you can begin to form a relationship with plant spirits. Plants are sentient creatures that often bond with the humans who tend to them with care. It’s not uncommon to bond with the plants in your garden.

It’s also in the garden where you’ll discover animal familiars who will come to your aid. The garden is filled with butterflies, snails, bunnies, frogs, and birds. You can work with the spirit of the animal in your garden to fulfill a purpose in your life.

I’ve buried both crows and a baby bunny that were found dead in my yard, near the garden. Crow animal spirit often comes by to inform me that a big change is about to happen, while the bunny spirit reminds me that luck is always on my side.

The magical witch’s garden is a living, breathing place of healing magic! It’s the place one goes to get away from it all. The plants, herbs, and flowers in the garden represent that life force energy.

It is here that the plant witch collects healing herbs from the garden to use in natural remedies. It’s in the garden where the witch grows farm-to-table foods for health and well-being. Witchy gardening tips for beginners always begin and end in the garden landscape.

The witch’s garden has a spirit and essence of its own. Much like the house of the house witch, it is ensouled by a plethora of plants, wildlife, and garden spells, each with its own spirit.

Everything in the garden is brought to life! From the rich, organic soil to the rainwater that seeps into its roots, the garden is a community of living things. It is home to magic.

Working with garden spirits can enrich your life in many ways. It is well known that gardening is good for the mind, body, and soul, making it the perfect conduit for the green witch.

In this premium enchanted article, you’ll learn how to be a garden witch! Learn how to discover secret gardens, work with gnome and fairy spirits, and bond with animal familiars straight from the garden.

The Garden Witchcraft Field Guide

The Garden Witchcraft Field Guide goes deeper into the secret, hidden places of the witch’s garden. The soil in the garden is a powerful place to charge the garden spells you place there, whether it be a spell jar, charm bag, or a potted plant spell.

The moon greatly influences the garden. You can garden by the light of the moon or use the moon’s gravity to grow your garden. Moon gardening is a favorite for many witches because nighttime is a period of growth, healing, and reflection.

The dark moon is the perfect time to cultivate a garden from scratch. I would consider it the planning phase of garden magic. Map out where you are going to plant your spells, so you can dig them up and find them at a later date.

I find the new moon perfect for planting the seeds of new intentions. This moon phase is all about starting over and wiping the slate clean. To start from scratch, plant seeds and watch them grow through all of the moon phases.

The waxing moon is perfect for tending the garden and creating new growth. This is the ideal time for pruning, weeding, and focusing on ways to increase something in your life. Think about what needs to grow in your life and make it your intention.

The full moon is perfect for harvesting what you’ve grown. It’s a powerful time for manifesting because it is the culmination of everything. Use this time to collect herbs, forage mushrooms, and work with any garden familiars that can help you reach your current goal.

The waning moon, also known as the baneful moon phase, is perfect for spending time in the garden and enjoying it. It’s a period of reflection and quiet contemplation. Take your garden journal and write about the magical things you see and experience in your garden. This is also the ideal time for creating plant profiles that help you observe and understand plants better.

In addition to working with lunar magic, the garden witch can choose to work with the pagan holidays to develop a magical garden spell! Each witchy holiday season brings a different set of plants.

I’m going to focus on the equinoxes and solstices for my intents and purposes, but you can take it one step further by gardening for the other witchy holidays, too. This includes Imbolc, Beltane, Lammas, and Samhain holidays.

For the spring equinox, also known as the Ostara holiday, you might enjoy the renewal of your garden. During this period, you can plant fresh herbs, add fresh garden soil, and create a rain spell to water your garden with weather witchcraft.

For the summer solstice, also known as the Litha holiday, you might enjoy partaking in the early harvests. You can make summer salads with the vegetables you’ve grown and berry smoothie bowls with the berries you’ve picked. During this period, you can create green kitchen witch recipes for a little bit of kitchen witchery!

For the autumn equinox, also known as the Mabon holiday, you might enjoy decorating your home and porch with fall seasonal gourds and roots. Here, you can craft wands and wreaths made from materials found by foraging in the garden. During this period, you might practice cottagecore witchcraft for the warm and cozy holiday season!

For the winter solstice, also known as the Yule holiday, you might enjoy the dormant nature of the season. This is a time to plan, reflect, and prepare for springtime and the return of light. During this period, you might practice garden planning and putting together garden spells for the warmer months ahead.

In addition to gardening by the moon and seasonal shifts, you might enjoy gardening by the weather! This means manifesting the weather you’d like to see in your garden. If your garden is too dry, you might try a rain spell. If there’s a hurricane coming, you might put up protections for your garden space and property.

Garden magic is special! It’s the type of magic that renews and charges itself over and over again through the transformative energies of the soil, water, and root systems beneath the plants. The animal and insect life that live there are just as magical as the garden they dwell in!

Life is a garden. Can you dig it? Use the garden oasis you’ve created to change your life. It’s the place you go when you want to feel the soil in the palm of your hand, the sunshine on your shoulders, and the magic in the confines of your heart space.

Sometimes, when you’re in the garden, it feels like home. That’s because a garden, whether it be a windowsill or a flowerbed, is an extension of your humble abode. When you carry in vegetables or bouquets from the garden, you are bringing nature into your home.

Learning about garden witchcraft will make you look at gardening in a magical way! You’ll see and explore things in the garden that can enhance and hone your craft. You’ll gain a new perspective on the things that live and grow in the garden.

In this premium enchanted article, you’ll find everything you need to practice garden magic in a way that feels personalized to the plant witch at heart. Everything from garden spells to working with plant spirits is available here. Enjoy! xo

The Dream Magick Companion for Magical Sleep

The Dream Magick Companion for Magical Sleep comes with a DIY dream charm bag, lucid dreaming techniques for spellwork in your sleep, and a dream witchcraft tea recipe with The Green Hearth Witch! For a witch, getting a good night’s rest can be a magical experience.

When I think of dream witchcraft, I think of prophetic dreams, hedge riding, and shadow work. Spellwork in your sleep, enchanted dream meanings, and visits from deceased loved ones all come to mind with this kind of magic.

Dreaming is a spiritual experience that takes you into different realms and connects you more closely to your soul. To harness that connection, you’ll journey into the different realms of dreamwork.

As a dream witch, you’ll want to keep a dream journal beside your bed, so you can write everything you remember from your dreams when you first awaken. The hedge witch is the witch closest to dream magick. She always has one foot in each world.

The best part of hedge witchery is bedtime. Here, the hedge witch can put herself in a trance state, as she drifts to sleep. As she enters a state of lucid dreaming, she’ll find the World Tree, also known as Yggdrasil.

Here, the witch can enter the lower realm, where the gnomes and fairies live. The middle realm consists of spirits and ancestors, while the upper realm is home to the gods.

You don’t have to be a hedge witch to practice dream magick. Dream witchery is something any kind of witch can incorporate into their practice. Entering a state of magical sleep is a great way to dig deeper into your psyche.

Working with dreams reveals secret, hidden places and the wisdom from wise old sages. Sleep is the liminal space where messages can be sent from the Other Side. It’s a place of magic and soulwork at its deepest.

The Dream Magick Companion for Magical Sleep

What can a dream witch do? A dream witchcraft practitioner typically works with herbs that induce sleep and oneiromancy, which is the ancient art of dream prediction and meaning. Several herbs can induce a trance-like state.

Creating and using a flying ointment or a magical dream tea can help induce a dream state. Additionally, creating dream pillow spells and dream charm bags to place under your pillow also produces enhanced results.

To practice dream magic, many witches keep a dream journal to record their dreams and their hedge riding experiences. Others like to practice shamanic journeying while in a magical sleep state.

It’s important to be in a calm, relaxed state on the verge of sleep as you enter the lucid dreaming stage. Being in this dream state allows you to manipulate your dreams and journey into the unknown.

To do this, set intentions before you fall asleep. Think about any spells you’d like to do, any nightmares you want to confront, and any familiars you might hope to encounter. It’s important to have a game plan before going in.

You’ll also want to put up some protections. If this is your first time intentionally entering a dream-like state, the first journey should be about meeting your familiar if you haven’t already. Typically, a familiar appears to you in animal, plant, or fairy form.

The job of your familiar is to protect you on the astral plane, fielding off trickster spirits. They also help you create spells, build dream houses on the Other Side, and help raise energy.

I also recommend using protective gemstones and prayerwork before entering a dream-like state. I like to call on the Goddess Hekate when doing dream work and graveyard witchcraft because she is the keeper of keys.

If you want to learn more about yourself, you’ll want to learn how to practice dream work. It’s a magical way to confront your fears and step into the light.
