How to Be a House Witch
How to Be a House Witch teaches you how to work with house spirits, domestic goddesses, and hearth witchcraft with The Green Hearth Witch! Much like a green hearth witch, house witchery creates a deep bond and connection with the house you live and dwell in. It creates a warm and cozy witchcraft practice in the heart of the home!
What does it mean to be a house witch? It means the heart of your witchcraft practice is in the home. House witchery is like garden witchcraft, hearthcraft, and kitchen witchcraft all in one!
While I consider myself a green witch first and foremost, I also consider myself a house witch because much of my practice takes place in and around my home. As a plant witch, I tend to bring nature into my home and practice a slow-living, cottagecore lifestyle!
I bring elements of nature into my home, surrounding myself with gemstones, houseplants, terrariums, and zen gardens. As a green house witch, I tend to spend a lot of time creating spells right from my kitchen, which is the hearth or the heart of the home!
My home makes me feel safe, warm, and loved! Most importantly, it feels like me. It has my style, vibrations, and good energy. I welcome only benevolent spirits into my home, as they offer assistance and kindness, and I give them offerings in return.
The spirits that live in my home are known as house spirits! Not only that, but the house itself becomes a living, breathing entity to the house witchcraft practitioner.
When you move into a new home, it’s important to introduce yourself to the house after clearing it. You’ll want to clear your space with crystals, sage burning, and prayers. You can take it one step further by naming your home, for those times when you want to call upon it!
For me, practicing house witchery means going sans casting a circle! Many witches cast a circle of protection around themselves when they cast a spell or perform a spiritual ritual. The house witch relies on the house to protect them, like a circle of trust!
I’ve never cast a circle in my life! I’ve never felt like I needed to in my practice. I’ve always felt safe and protected while casting a hiking pretty spell on Mother Nature and the comfort and coziness of my home.
Being a house witch is about being comfortable in the skin you're in! You can do spells in your pajamas, weave magic into your morning and evening routines, and create magic while decorating your home.
Think about it. Your home represents your spirit and true essence. It’s the place you can relax, let your hair down, and be yourself. It sounds wonderful, doesn’t it?
Without further ado, let’s take a deep dive into house witchcraft! Learning how to be a housewitch comes with rich rewards and new ways to look at the home as a place of magical spellwork.
