How to Work With Mother Mary in Witchcraft
How to Work With Mother Mary in Witchcraft covers how to do candle magic with the Virgin Mary and the Hail Mary Holy Florida Water with the Green Hearth Witch! She’s the mother of Jesus Christ and the queen of the angels. Mother Mary is available to all of us at any given time.
Mother Mary has been a constant in my life since childhood. I’ve always had a strong bond with her. When I need calm and peacefulness in my life, she’s the one I turn to.
I enjoy working with saints and have had a lot of success with them. The Virgin Mary is venerated above all other saints.
In the past, I’ve worked with Saint Expedite, Saint Rita, Saint Jude Thaddeus, and Saint Padre Pio. Working with the saints has become a regular part of my practice. Mother Mary is someone altogether different.
As a mother, she has warm, nurturing, and loving energy. She feels like a warm hug when you pray to her.
One of my favorite things about Mary is her signs! When Mother Mary hears your prayers, she makes certain that you know you were heard. She often does this by sending signs.
Many years ago, I was suicidal and heavily contemplating ending my life. I decided to take a chance and prayed to her. A half hour later, I was on the road driving, and the bumper sticker on the car in front of me said: “Choose life.”
It was obviously a pro-life bumper sticker, but it was definitely applicable to my situation. I can’t say that I instantly felt better, but I can say it made me feel like I wasn’t alone.
Recently, I was thinking of Mother Mary, and instantly channeled a song. It was “Rose in the Garden” by Cody Francis. Roses are Mary’s signature scent! When I see her, she’s usually surrounded by roses.
I immediately listened to the song and looked up the lyrics, as tears ran down my face. It was her way of letting me know she was with me and she loved me. It was one of the sweetest moments that I’ve ever shared with her!
Nowadays, I sleep with my Mother Mary Statue (pictured above) nearby, along with a blue angelite crystal. Most of the time, I’ll say a little prayer to her before bedtime, with her statue as a reminder.
Angelite crystal bridges the connection between humans and the heavenly realm. With angelite, you can easily communicate with spirit guides, guardian angels, and the saints.
What is beautiful about Mary is that she loves and accepts us all unconditionally. You don’t have to be a Christian, a Witch, or a Catholic to bridge a connection. You just have to be brave enough to reach out to her!
How to Work With Mother Mary in Witchcraft
If you want to work with the Virgin Mary in your witchcraft practice, you have to reach out to her first. Since Mary is part of Christianity, you might like to start with a little prayer. Don’t be afraid to open your heart to her, even if you’ve never prayed before.
When I work magic with Mary, the archangels, and the saints, I do it as a Christian Witch. While I don’t have roots in Catholicism, I find myself connecting with it more and more.
If you aren’t Christian, that’s okay. You can still pray to Mother Mary and forge a relationship with her, but do so with a humble and open heart. Don’t be surprised if, slowly but surely, some of your beliefs change over time.
When you work with her, she makes you want to be a better person. She purifies your heart and the reasons for your prayer request. It feels like she’s deeply peering into your soul.
Working with her has made me want to quit saying curse words. I still mess up more than I’d like to admit, but I’m trying, and she sees that. With Mary, you’re going to end up cleaning up your act and purifying your heart.
With Mother Mary Witchcraft, as with all folk magic, you might want to purchase a Holy Bible. I recommend the King James version. I also recommend acquiring a set of rosary beads, candles, and a picture of Mother Mary.
Reading the Bible as a daily practice, along with regular prayer, demonstrates an insurmountable level of devotion. If you want to work with Mary, repetition, rituals, and devotion are all required.
Additionally, the best moon phase to call on Mother Mary is during the full moon phase! This moon phase is the culmination of everything. It’s reminiscent of divine femininity and motherhood.
How to Do Candle Magic With The Virgin Mary
If you want to work with the Virgin Mary, you’re going to want to work with candle magic spells and rituals! This means working with the fire element.
Candle magic blends Catholic witchcraft and folk magic together. By lighting candles and praying to Mother Mary, you’re igniting the divine spark within. This, along with lighting incense, signals to Mary that her presence is needed.
With the Immaculate Mother, you’ll be lighting specific candles to make a prayer request. Fixed, vigil, and saint candles are lit so your prayers can reach heaven. With the Immaculate Mother, the candlelight represents Mary bringing light to dark, difficult situations.
Fixed Candle - A fixed candle is a “dressed” candle used in folk magic practices. This means the candle is rubbed in oil and rolled in herbs.
Vigil Candle - A vigil candle is often lit at memorials or church services in memory or honor of someone. These kinds of candles symbolize peace and hopefulness.
Saint Candle - A saint candle is a prayer or devotional candle that comes in a tall glass jar filled with wax. It often depicts a Catholic saint or angel. They are often used for novenas or perpetual prayers.
With the Virgin Mary, you’ll want to perform a 9-day novena. This is where you’ll light the candle and pray to her for the full 9-days. I recommend praying up to 9 times each day of the novena, or in odd numbers.
If there’s a specific Bible scripture you’d like to read during your novena, then feel free to incorporate it into your daily prayers and recitation. Additionally, you might like to pray with your rosary beads in devotion to Mary.
As with any prayer, always give gratitude and thanks! You can do this verbally or by leaving a small libation or offering on your altar. If you feel called to, you might like to assemble a Mother Mary altar in your home.
Mother Mary Color Magic With Candles
Blue - When I think of Mother Mary, I always think of a soft blue hue. If you look at Mother Mary statuary and artwork, she is often depicted wearing blue robes.
White - When I think of Mary, I think of innocence, purification, and a bright ray of white light. You can’t go wrong with a white candle and the Virgin Mary!
Pink - When I think of the Immaculate Mother, I think of the Immaculate Heart. The immaculate heart makes me think of the gentle, sweet energy of the divine mother.
Alternatively, you can choose a color based on your prayer request! You might be drawn to a specific color in relation to Mary, and it’s okay to work with it.
How to Choose a Petition for Mother Mary Novena
You can pray to Mother Mary about any problems you’re experiencing, as long as you come to her humbled and with a sincere heart. It’s not uncommon to pray to Jesus for forgiveness or confess your sins before starting a novena. This way, you’ll come to her pure of heart!
To choose your novena, be sure to tailor it to your needs. There is likely a novena prayer that matches your situation, making it the best fit.
Here are the ones that I use the most. I also pray to Mary in a conversation style several times a day. For novenas, I prefer something more intense.
You’ll need to look up these prayers because there’s a new prayer for each day of your novena in relation to the prayer. For example, the Immaculate Heart of Mother Mary lasts 9-days.
Immaculate Heart of Mary - A prayer of consecration, protection against sins, and comfort for the sick and lonely.
The “Impossible Novena” prayer - A prayer for impossible situations and divine intercession in personal matters.
Our Lady Undoer of Knots - A prayer for twisted, tangled, and difficult situations. It’s a prayer that uncomplicates things.
Novena to the Immaculate Conception - A prayer for purification from sin. It’s a prayer that’s helpful in breaking bad habits (like swearing) and addictions.
Our Lady of Perpetual Help - A prayer for the divine intercession in urgent needs and miracle healings. It’s considered a popular, widely used prayer that perfectly joins with the prayers of others.
Our Lady of Sorrows - A prayer for emotional turbulence, grief, and crisis. It’s a miracle prayer for the bereaved and brokenhearted.
The Hail Mary Holy Florida Water
This homemade Florida water came to me as I was preparing to write this article. I always pray before writing, and sometimes, I’ll receive intuitive downloads, visions, and clarity.
The main component of Florida water is alcohol and citrus fruits. The first step is to choose your alcohol base and citrus fruits.
I recommend using 90 percent isopropyl rubbing alcohol to make your cologne. It’s important to remember that Florida water is used to anoint, and is not to be consumed. It can be used to cleanse, heal, bless, and protect things!
You’ll want to pray to Mother Mary before making your holy Florida water, and ask her to consecrate and bless it! You’ll be using it before any Mother Mary magical rituals and practices.
Florida Water Cologne Ingredients:
If you have access to holy water, I recommend adding a capful to your magical water. (Optional)
90% isopropyl rubbing alcohol.
Oranges, grapefruits, and lemons for notes of citrus. Oranges for abundance, grapefruit for blessings, and lemon for healing, cleansing, and protection.
One pure white blooming flower. I recommend a Magnolia flower as it represents purification and virginity.
A pretty jar or bottle to keep your Florida water in while it steeps.
As you add each ingredient, pray to Mother Mary for healing, shielding, blessings, and protection. Ask her to purify your home and lifestyle of sin. Welcome her holy healing light into your life.
I also recommend using fresh ingredients! Fresh citrus peels and a full white flower or flower petals that represent the Virgin Mother.
Last but not least, pour the alcohol and holy water into the bottle, visualizing pure white light. See Mother Mary in your mind’s eye blessing your magical water.
Let it steep for a minimum of six weeks, visualizing the Virgin Mary’s light infiltrating each day through a quick prayer and three Hail Marys. Thank Mother Mary for her many blessings!
